Amazon Bookstore announces a unique opportunity for writers and fans of erotica.
Come join Jen Cross and your fierce, fabulous community of erotic writers on Thursday, 7/24 at 7p.m.,
at an Erotic Reading Circle at Amazon Bookstore Cooperative where we'll gather to share our creative
erotic endeavors! Bring whatever you're working on, or whatever you'd *like* to be working on. Bring
something to read or just be part of the appreciative circle of listeners. This is a great place to
try out new work (ask for comments if you like), or to get more comfortable reading for other people.
Longtime writers might bring their latest... newly inspired writers, bring that vignette you scrawled
on the bus while daydreaming on your way to work! Non-judgmental listening guaranteed. All orientations
and levels of writing experience welcome. Suggested donations from attendees are $5-$10, but no one will
be turned away.
The SF Bay Guardian said of the San Francisco 's latest incarnation of the Erotic Reading Circle
(with Jen Cross and Carol Queen): "People bring finished stories as well as works in progress,
ranging in format from memoir to metatextual erotica mashup. You can share your latest explorations
of transgressive sexuality or your recovery from sexual abuse - or just listen to an A-list pervert
reading a new story that you'll find in an anthology a year later."
Jen is an extensively-anthologized writer, whose work appears in more than 20 anthologies and webzines
(some as Jen Collins), including Best Sex Writing 2008, Best Women's Erotica 2007, Best Fetish Erotica,
Best Bisexual Women's Erotica, Nobody Passes, and many more.
She fell in love with MN during a quick stop on the Body Heat: Femme Porn Tour! Jen received her MA in
Transformative Language Arts from Goddard College (where she studied the healing uses of erotic writing),
has led erotic writing workshops since 2002, and is a firm believer in the transformative power of smut.

Jen is in town to do a Sexuality and Writing Workshop with Susan Miranda in an outdoor cabin setting.
For more information, contact Susan at miranda_susan@yahoo.com
(Space at the outdoor workshop is limited
to less than ten people)

Dear friends of Amazon,
We have some wonderful news for you! At the eleventh hour, buyers have come forth to carry on the store. Ruta Skujins, with the help of her partner, Joann Bell, have decided to take over the store. Details are being worked out, and we hope to transfer the ownership of the store by the end of June. In the meantime, we have started to re-stock the store and are once again taking special orders.
We will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) for inventory and will continue the 20% off sale through Friday.
Thanks so much to all of you who have come in the last few weeks to show your support of the store by both your purchases and kind words. We hope you will continue to support this community’s historic institution, the oldest feminist bookstore in the world.
Barb and all the members of the Amazon Bookstore Cooperative
